well at least i didn’t let myself eat at the computer…

i did that part today. otherwise i busted into my pumpkin bread i made. i need to stop making the stuff - this was a really yummy batch. i LOVE roasting the pumpkin and making something out of it. yesterday i made pumpkin soup, pumpkin muffins, and pumpkin bread plus cranberry applesauce. i was in a cooking frenzy! we also had latkes for Hannukah last night. All that plus going out Saturday night and have a food fest when i got home. I am up today - oh yeah! Saturday night was really interesting…i wanted a bit of timeon my own to watch tv.eat something before bed. my wind down time that i haven’t changed yet. i was feeling really picky about the eats and decided that if i was going to eat i’d go for what my body really wanted rather than just graze b/c something would take too long. so i made a pizza bagel. i though, ok, i know this is a little elevated on the calories but that’s okay i am really listening to what i wanted in the moment, not binging, etc. Unfortunately, the bagel was wholly unsatisfying. I don’t know if it was the whole wheat bagel, the chucky vegetable sauce or the slightly cold cheese, but it just wasn’t doing it for me. i still ate it (of course). Here’s where it gets good -then i seet to grazing. after i had really tried to just do the one thing, i ended up in more of a binge mode…granola bars and almond butter…nothing hit the spot though so i did just stop. it was just so interesting.

then yesterday was all the baked goods and latkes or potato pancakes (once a year thing) so i will be up abit going it to this week. we will see where i start the longest loser on Saturday!

I am not giving up. Just noticing…

I love potato pancakes! Mmmm. I do the same thing with grazing. It’s like once I eat one thing, it sets off a trend. It’s very hard to stop. I try to control it by keeping only healthy snacks in the kitchen, but of course my boyfriend ruins that plan sometimes with his snacks!

I’m doing the Longest Loser challenge too! It sounds like fun.

Key words here being “not giving up” HIGH FIVERS on that one.

I have had those times too that I want something but I just don’t know what, and I end up eating everything in sight. Then I end up getting a glass of water and THAT’S what my body had been craving all along. Learned the hard way. Now when I feel that way, the FIRST thing I go for is water. Try it. It might work for you too!

    Hugggggggggggggggs,
    Shan
p.s. I’ll trade you an invight to Florida for some of that cranberry applesauce. Sounds divine!

Yes, you are not giving up. Ok, high cal day for you and if you’re up this week, you’ll be down next week.

Can you do me a favor and send me a little good package….because I can help you eat some of the goody minus your pizza though. :)

Me and my friends love all things pumpkin. I LOVE LOVE LOVE pumpkin muffins. I could only eat those all day long. I don’t even make any of that stuff because I would eat it.

Ooooohhh, pumpkin!!! Love it!! I am making some pumpkin pie tomorrow, and maybe some bread, too.
Hey you know, I think it is better to have the one thing you crave, instead of grazing on everything else! You did good! This week will be hard for us all, but we will get thru it, hugs!

It’s good that you are noticing! It’s about moderation. You can have a little of everything…just don’t overdo it! Is that 50th bite really as good as the first?? We’re almost through the week, girlfriend! Merry Christmas! ;-)

Oh! And Happy Hanukkah! Thanks for the reminder yesterday! I got to talk to my attorney for a few minutes yesterday after I sent her that text! ;-)

All right, you are in the right way of thinking… Satisfaction without binging. I love it. And this week, oh yeh, potato pancakes with dill yogurt topping. Half sour cream and yogurt.. we will see. Your pumpkin recipes sound divine! All the best in the New Year Debbie. *hugs* Thanks for the response.

I really really want to eat more like you. In fact I do in many ways. What is it with getting a little depressed with eating meat? My body wants, my mind does not. You are an inspiration! Thank you.
