I’m clenching!

Just my teeth thank you! Although, I’m not ready for the baby to come out either, so maybe…LOL Am I getting cruder here each day or what? Sorry!

About the teeth. Went to a yoga class yesterday afternoon and as I sat there waiting to begin I realized that I was totally clenching my teeth. Gritting down so hard. It’s one of my stress/ anxiety things - not grinding but holding the jaw too tight. It was starting to feel a little sore. I guess all the tension of the move was locating itself in my not so pearly whites. It all is about the mouth isn’t it? If I’m not eating then I’m clenching…well, good to see and feel it happening. Helps me to let go now that I know I am doing it. My teacher had us do some funny face stretches as well, including one called Lion’s Breath where you stick your tongue way out while you are doing a squat. Pretty funny image. We did it in my last prenatal ypga class - helps you loosen up for the “my guard has no choice but to be down” part of laboring a baby into the world :)

rambling a little here.

Open up those mouths and stick out your tongue!

I am glad you did not practice a “primal scream” in your class. LOL

One of my favorite poses, the Lion pose. I’ll do it today.

Fluctuations in anxiety and peaceful periods… part of the process, part of life.

Hold stead Debbie, it’s only a few more weeks before you see a new person you and your husband invited to the world.

Oh… I read the title and thought I was going to hear all about Keigal exercises. :)

I want a picture of your squatting and doing the lion’s breath. It should make for a GREAT entertainment piece on my bulletin board at my desk. *grins*

Right back at ya Sista… *sticks tongue out and huuuuuuuuuuuuuuugggggggggggggggggggggs*

What a silly pose that must be!!! So glad to see your sense of humor Debbie.

I totally clench my teeth too! Luckily my dad is my dentist so I had to cart my fat butt up to north jersey and get a night guard which is totally NOT sexy but i dont have headaches all day anymore! It is def a stress thing tho, yoga is such a good idea. I took up meditating and turns out, that is just concentrating on your breathing (whoda thought?) but I do it on the train in and out of work everyday and I have noticed a difference. Make sure you are taking some time to focus on yourself and you are getting everything you need during this stressful time.

That image of you doing the Lions breath is too funny! I hold a lot of my tension in my jaw as well and have to try to be aware of in or if I do it for too long it will ache.
