i grabbed the opportunity!

This morning I woke up early to our son yelling at 5 am. Well, very quickly he went back to sleep but I didn’t. After laying in bed for awhile i got myself up and got into the living room for some yoga. I have this prenatal yoga DVD that is really an ass kicker. It’s a vinyassa flow and you really move. I  haven’t yet made it past 41 minutes usually because either my son wakes up or i get worn out. Once my dog and cat kept bugging me, too. Well, today i made it through 1 hour and 12 minutes before I had to go back to being a mom. It was such a  great work out and a wonderful start to the day!!! I felt powerful and strong and hot but in a good I exercised and am alive kind of way! It really made my mood soar!

It was easier to get up today, too, because i went to bed with my husband last night at a reasonable time rather than do the stay up late and watch sitcoms thing. I did eat in front of the TV before bed, but no giant binge. Tonight and Tuesday night are going to be no eats in front of TV night - i will allow veggies if my body tells me I’m hungry.  Then i am going to let myself have eats Wed and Thurs and then none on Friday. Scheduling out and cutting down - this helped me when i was losing weight - made it doable. And, I’m finding myself ready to take some steps in the direction of not chowing out in front of the TV and especially not staying up late. No sleep and i are a combo that just sets me up for overeating - both that night while I’m awake and the next day as I fight fatigue!

So anyway the no binge and no late night really helped as i got more sleep and just felt better this morning. We also moved a small AC unit into our bedroom since it’s been so hot here - Saturday night I couldn’t sleep due to the heat. It was glorious to be cool!

All in all feeling good here. We’re all going to visit the hospital tonight to see the birthing center. I had my son back in San Fran so I’ve never seen this set up here. Tomorrow I’ll be 31 weeks! Wowee!! We also move this Saturday so I better go get packing - our babysitter just took the lil one out so i can pack rather than play here :)

Have a great day!

Wow! Debbi I am so proud of you! You are going to have one healthy baby. You have truly got your priorities straight. You birth should go so smoothly too with what you are doing. I lovvve your pic it is so precious. You know what I would have done with all my pregnancies if it was available at the time? Casting my belly so I could give the mold to them. I think that is such an unbelievable thing to do. Imagine doing the cast with a little finger or toe sticking out there or even the butt? How amazing would that be? Do you like that? Sista Linda

Hehe… Oscar gets jealous sometimes that I am doing a workout and so he will either walk onto my chest/stomach or walk behind my moving leg *yikes*

Way to go with the yoga and it sounds like you are doing wonderfully with the food. Thanks for the reminder about the book, The Zen of Eating. I have it on an Interlibrary loan and I hope they call soon.

Have a great week Debbie. Happy packing. *hugs*

Every time I get inspired to do yoga when I read your blog.

Debbie, sleep is so important when you are pregnant. Sleep is your friend, sitcoms are junk, mental junk that will not give you any rest.

Let us know how your cutting down on binges program works.

SWEET DREAMS, Debbie and a little baby.

Debbie you are doing such a great job! I like that you are now allowing your self certain days to eat the right thing and certain days to eat what you really want. Great job with the yoga…you know you are getting close to delivery when you are going to see the birthing center. YOu must be so excited.
