l keep going to the store HUNGRY
Maybe I’m just hungry ALL THE TIME. I even ate a protein bar before I went in so I woudn’t be starving. See, when I’m hungry at the store my abilities to curb desire completely fail me. Suddenly I truly believe that I NEED to make chocolate chip cookies and therefore I NEED chocolate chips. No one EVER NEEDS CHOCOLATE CHIPS! Things like this become apparent once I get home, unpack the groceries, have lunch and wonder why the hell did i buy chocolate chips, chocolate pudding, and the cereal that i tend to overeat. When I’m satiated, I can really resist the irrational temptations, but not so today.
The thing is I REALLY NEEDED to go to the store. We were at the point where we had no fresh fruit except for some bananas that seen to have decided that they would like to be green forever. No produce, except the lettuce that never made it into a lovely salad. It was a weekend of cooking from the freezer and the cabinets and making random concoctions. Last night, it was either order pizza or get creative, so i roasted the Butternut squash that was hanging around, cooked some brown rice and made a little risotto-like dish. Quite yummy, actually. Saturday, though, I ended up making sweet potato pie because all those odd ingredients were easily noticeable now that the cupboards were bare. There was also the miso, frozen thai veggie, and noodle soup. I like to cook creatively, so it was fun, but boy am i glad to fill up again with fresh food.
Now, to hide the chocolate things…

ugh….I cant believe you bought that evil chocolate..j/k…hide it deep dark in the cupboard
UH let’s say because you are preggers lol! That’s why you want and don’t want things they’re called cravings which I’m sure you are aware of! And go ahead and indulge yourself in one or two you deserve it. You are the busiest mom to be i have ever met in my life!!! Have a great day! And if your tempted go ahead only because you are with child, but don’t get carried away!!!!
lol. Why not try to show after eating meal. That always seems to help me.
Excuses, excuses! You know you just want that darn chocolate and will decapitate anybody that gets in your way! That’s cool, it’s the hormones talking, lol! I do agree with Angela though, a little indulgence can go a long way, just dont overdo it!
I personally fill up with 6 triscuts and lean ham and tons of water before I shop…LOL
My only problem now is needing to pee while I’m there. LOL
LOL!! Yes, there’s a lot to be said for going to the store on a full tummy, but it’s a double edge sword…I’ve found that because I am NOT hungry when I go, I tend not to buy enough of the essentials or much else for that matter…nothing really looks good! LOL!! Sounds like you’re back in business though!
If I start in the produce section and load up on fresh veggies and fruit I do better. Then I’m feeling all pleased with myself for all those healthy choices and way less likely to buy junk. Try it, it works. s.

Another trick I’ve learned is walk the perimeter of the grocery store. Avoid the middle because that is where the processed/boxed/choc chips, etc are. It works really well for me and has forced me to focus on the produce and fruit more!!
And………..I’m like you, if I’m hungry I buy more. Even if I’m not hungry I STILL buy more!!! Maybe try carrying a water bottle, or maybe some hard candy in your mouth while shopping?
Chococlate…ok…cute story here. No valentines exchanges (chocolate filled hearts) we both agreed. Well 3 days after Valentines day when the chocolate filled Valentine hearts were 75% off, guess who just had to buy 2 of them…LOL!!! Glutton for punishment. But remember you are pregnant, these cravings in ineviable and its ok to cheat alittle. Stay happy!!! Stay healthy!!!
I do think hormones have alot to do with it. Just keep up the exercise and get in lots of healthy stuff. Hugs, Kama

I DO THE SAME THING!!! I’m so horrible!! And I KNOW it!! LOL!
The trick I use is to bring a huge water bottle and a little water bottle with me. I chug as much water as I can stand from the big bottle before going in, and every time I’m tempted, I drink more water from the little bottle I bring in with me. I get to the point where I never want to see food (or water!) again! LOL!
Good luck hiding the chocolate!!
Are you hiding those chocolate chips or is someone else? Hehe….. I hear ya. It was so hard for me to walk away from the milk chocolate chips today when I was grocery shopping. Once I ate an entire bag of those nasty things before they even made them into the cookies…YIKES… Those were the days… YUCK!
Good idea to eat before anyways. Your recipes sound so awesome.
Have a great day Debbie. *hugs*
